ADMISSION AND REGISTRATION OF PERSONS 62 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER
Pursuant to the provisions of an amendment to the Georgia Constitution, the Board of Regents established the following
rules with respect to enrollment of persons of age 62 or older in units of the University System. To be eligible for
enrollment under the provisions of this amendment such persons:

Must be residents of Georgia, 62 years of age or older at the time of registration, and must present a birth
certificate or other comparable written documentation of age to enable the Registrar to determine eligibility.
- May enroll as regular students in courses offered for resident credit on a "space available" basis without payment
of fees, except for supplies or laboratory or shop fees.
- Must meet all System and institutional admission requirements.
- Will have all usual student and institutional records maintained.
- Must meet all System, institutional, and legislated degree requirements such as Regents' Exam, Major Area Exam
and History and Constitution instruction or exams, if they are degree-seeking students.
- May not enroll in Dental, Medical, Veterinary, or Law Schools under the provisions of this policy.
