The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education provides educational conferences, courses, and programs for lifelong learners. One of the major functions of the Center for Continuing Education is to offer credit and noncredit continuing education programs on campus and throughout the state, as well as internationally, drawing on the full resources of the University and working closely with the faculty and participating groups.
The Athens offices of the Center for Continuing Education are housed in The Georgia Center, the University of Georgia’s Conference Center and Hotel. The Georgia Center includes two auditoriums (200 and 600 seats), 20 conference rooms and five executive boardrooms, a state-of-the-art computer lab, four dining options, spacious ballroom and banquet facilities, a full-service hotel featuring 200 well-appointed guest rooms and suites, and 15,000 square feet of exhibit space. The Georgia Center also provides a variety of support services for continuing education and the service function of the University of Georgia.

The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education provides both credit and noncredit learning opportunities for adults and youth seeking to expand their personal and professional horizons. Courses are available in a wide variety of subjects and in numerous delivery formats, including online, classroom, and print. Courses are offered at times convenient for nontraditional learners and are held at The Georgia Center in Athens and the UGA Gwinnett Campus, as well as at off-campus locations and corporate sites.

Professional and Personal Development
The Department of Professional and Personal Development provides a variety of noncredit programs targeted toward enhancing professional workplace skills, enriching personal interests, and engaging youth. CEU-granting certificate programs, workshops, and courses are available in a variety of formats, in either open-enrollment classes or customized training to fit the needs of organizations and individuals. Courses are available in classroom settings, online, and at industry sites. Professional development programs include: human resources management, grant writing, project management, real estate pre-licensing, teacher education, TESOL, turfgrass management, paralegal studies, Spanish/English medical interpretation, medical coding, healthcare management, clinical pharmacokinetics, marketing research, governmental accounting, executive coaching, and Customized Corporate Training. Personal development programs include: foreign languages, studio arts, photography, creative writing, and test preparation (LSAT, GRE, GMAT and SAT). Youth programs include: summer camps, reading workshops, SAT test prep, and residential Pre-College studies.
